The event kicked off the evening before with a warm reception hosted by Susan McClatchy at her home. JFP members, friends and Chips Quinn Reporters enjoyed an evening of networking and camaraderie, and enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by Hawks Public House.

The following day, Board members and Chips Quinn Reporters met at the California Endowment Center. Each Board member introduced themselves to the reporters and shared their extensive career backgrounds. The Chips Quinn Reporters then took turns recounting their journeys into journalism and outlining the goals that they hoped to achieve during the duration of the program. Each reporter will receive a $10,000 stipend, funded by Freedom Forum, which launched the Chips Quinn program in 1991.

After lunch, the reporters departed and the official Board meeting commenced. The agenda covered the organization’s vision for the coming years, celebrating its successes and exploring new ways to enhance JFP's services.

The day concluded with Board members and reporters gathering to enjoy the Sacramento River Cats' game against the Reno Aces, celebrating another successful meeting with an evening of relaxation and fun.
